Blackhall Playgroup is situated in the church hall attached to St Columba's Church in the Blackhall area of Edinburgh.
The playgroup has use of a hall on the upper landing of the building with access to toilets on the ground floor.
The playroom is large and spacious with a small cloakroom area. The playgroup is provided by a voluntary committee which is made up of parents attending the group. The committee is responsible for overseeing the running of the playgroup including the employment and supervision of the playgroup staff. A manager is employed to run the playgroup on a day-to-day basis.
Blackhall Playgroup is registered to provide a daycare service to a maximum of 24 children between the ages of 2½ years and 4½ years of whom a maximum of 5 children will be between 2½ years. The service operates Monday to Friday between the hours of 9.00am and 11.30am School Term Time
We provide a stimulating, rewarding and welcoming play environment for children and, by introducing them to group activities and new skills, provides an effective bridge between home and pre-school nursery. What more could you ask for?
There is also limited spaces available for the Blackhall Toddler Group.
The Blackhall Toddler Group is run by local parents and warmly welcomes babies and children up to three years old together with their parent or carer.
This is a Tuesday group which runs during school term time from 9:30 - 11am.
They offer a variety of toys for all ages, singing, healthy snacks for children and tea/coffee with goodies for the adults.
Interest from new members for the Tuesday group is always welcome. Although there is sometimes a waiting list for a place in the group, it is hoped that no one has to wait too long. Any parent/carer with a baby/toddler can put their name down.
