Starting your child

We encourage all families to visit Playgroup prior to starting date. First session will be around and hour with an adult staying with the child. On the second session the child may be left for 30mins to an hour and this will allow staff to observe the child and discuss next steps with parents/carers.

Sessions are based mainly around free play. The children will also be included in group activities both with their key worker and other staff members. Activities are planned around the children's interests and developmental needs.

Drop off and pick up

When the children arrive, parents will assist them changing into their indoor shoes.
These can be kept on their named peg within the cloakroom area.  At pick up parents can wait within the cloakroom and the children will be out called individually.

What to Wear

Playgroup can be a little messy at times. Children are encouraged to explore their environment and what better way than hands on!! We would advise older clothes are worn for this reason. Indoor shoes are advised to help keep the playroom floor dry and clean.

A healthy snack is provided every day with a weekly menu posted on our notice board. All dietary requirements are taken into consideration when planning our snack menu.   We have a rolling snack policy allowing children to finish their activity before snack.

The children each have their own bag on their peg. A change of clothes and nappy can be kept here. When your child is ready for toilet training, staff will be happy to support your child and you as a parent with your new routine.
